going to a war with 1000 men IS a good idea.as long as foe's army is much smaller than us, or their commander is an idiot who can't say the differences between retreat and charge.hehehe.

btw, i'm sorry for the grammatical incorrect(if i'd made one)hehehe.

@P4ndu_Y4m4to:
Lesse... okay... 1000 man can be divided into 1000/40 = 25 company... so 25 major /captain should be sufficient (1 mj/cpt per company/ for 39 men).

Each company will be consisted of 5 squad. each with field level command.So each squad will have it's own sergeant (1 sergeant and 4 trooper).

And the size of terrain you're currently fighting in determined your HQ size. Lessay 1 person for each sqmil.. So if you are fighting in a (lessay) 100 sqmil. You need a 100 person to act as your management team.

So you need to bring 25 sub-commander (who supervised 1000/5=200 sergeants/ 8 sergeants per cpt/mj), and 100 men as a management team who manages your supplies, telecommunication, etc.

BTW, just to say explicitly, going to a war with 1000 men is not a good idea.

How 'bout this:
I'm a high commander in a major country that have, say at least, 1 thousand men under my command, and about to go to war. How I solve this problem?
How many sub-commander should I bring? How many men for each sub-commander?
